I woke up a couple of mornings ago singing these lyrics to a song, “We won’t move without You. We won’t move without You. You’re the light of all and all that we need.” I was singing that over and over. It’s the song, “The Lord Our God” on the CD “Passion: Let the Future Begin”. I love this CD! I would be listening to it now but I can’t write and listen to music at the same time. (I tend to sing instead of write. I can’t do both. But I can chew gum and walk at the same time. I digress…)
It’s the phrase, “We won’t move without You” that has been going over and over in my head. I guess it’s because our life right now still seems so temporary. (If you follow this blog you know we live in an RV) Thankfully, our church is a stabalizing factor for us. Being involved and on staff at Elevate Church has been a life-saver (understatement of the year). But still… we live in an RV and Troy’s job in Pecos will eventually end. (Please, Lord, let it be soon.) Then…. he will do something else.
The thing is… we don’t know what that something else is, for sure. At this point, we’re just guessing. But one thing we do know… we won’t move without Him. He’s the light of all and all that we need. I love that! Jesus sheds light on any situation and when it’s time to move on to the next job (or whatever your next thing is) we don’t have to worry or stress out about it. He will make the way plain. The path will be clear. The choice will be obvious. We can trust Him that much!
We won’t make a move without Jesus telling us what move to make. We have that resolve. It’s just the best way.
If you’re waiting to make a move… change a job, change locations, change a relationship, change schools, I encourage you to let the words to that song sink into your heart and mind. I hope the words, “We won’t move without You.” bring you as much resolve and determination to wait paitiently for Jesus’ direction as they have me.
When I get antsy and ready to leave this RV Park, I sing those words “We won’t move without You”. I know God has perfect timing and I’m willing to wait for the perfect time. I know it’s best.
So, God… If I have to sing it all day, I’ll sing it all day. “We won’t move without You. We won’t move without You. You’re the light of all and all that we need”. And I suppose I have to sing it more so I can hear than so You can hear it. But that’s what helps me. Thank you, God, for being patient with me and giving me patience to wait. I know You have good things for all of us who wait on You before we move. I’m excited to see what the next move is. And I’m ready for it. I guess that’s obvious. We love you. We trust You. And we won’t move without You. Amen.
